NEWCASTLE KZN: Driver ‘flees scene’ after crashing through wall
The vehicle has since been removed.
Residents along Umfolozi Avenue in Ncandu Park were woken to a loud bang yesterday morning when a vehicle crashed through the perimeter wall of one of the homes on the street.
According to officials at the scene, the driver of the vehicle allegedly fled and left the vehicle abandoned.
“It’s not quite clear what happened exactly, but it appears the driver isn’t from Newcastle and perhaps wasn’t too familiar with the road,” said the source.
He could not confirm if any injuries were sustained as a result of the crash. The vehicle has since been removed and the case will remain subject to police investigation.
