ESTCOURT KZN: Hands-on residents showing #Love for Estcourt / Mtshezi

Locals might have started to notice an increase in the #Love Estcourt / Mtshezi signs and bumper stickers, as a group of proactive ratepayers have started cleaning up sections of the town.
The group, which was officially launched in February, consists of locals who are keen to make a difference in the town.
After realising it was time for each resident to do their bit, instead of waiting for the local municipality to address and attend to service delivery complaints, the #Love Estcourt / Mtshezi group aimed to start small, grow in membership and then tackle bigger concerns.

A team hosted a clean-up over the weekend, close to the water tower along the Wembezi road, where rampant illegal dumping is evident.
“Lots of people enjoy walking their dogs here and it has become a real eyesore. “We plan to do future clean-ups in the area and would love people to come forward and help,” said Dr Brian Taylor.
So how can you get involved to help make the town look better?
A Facebook page – #Love Estcourt/Mtshezi – has been created and the aim is to share photos of things locals love about the town, cultivating a spirit a pride and reigniting a sense of hope. Anyone wanting to show support can also fill out a pledge form that is available at Estcourt Veterinary Clinic and Estcourt Pharmacy; this has no cost. Bumper stickers and signs with the #Love Estcourt / Mtshezi logo emblazoned on them can be displayed wherever an area has been cleaned. Further enquiries can be directed to Dr Taylor on 082-552-7330.
