Ladysmith KZN: 5 ways to keep your kids busy this Easter

Relax and bond with your children, not breaking the bank

Parents all across the globe struggle to find ways to keep their little ones busy and out of trouble when the Easter holiday rolls around.

Many parents don’t want to just stick their child in front of the television or let them run completely wild.

So try these fun activities that will both allow you to relax and bond with your children, not breaking the bank:

1. Scavenger hunt: You can give the kids a piece of paper with hints of where or what objects to find, and hide them all over the house.

2. Arts and crafts: Many children love letting their imagination take over and this can distract them for hours. Simply keep a box of everything they need: glue sticks, colourful paper, ribbon and the list goes on. They can then easily access these items and let their imagination run wild.

3. Board games: With the many board games available, it’s easy to spend an entire day stuck on one.

4. Gardening: If you love gardening, why not let your little ones join in! You get to do something you like and they can learn something new.

5. Into the kitchen: As daunting as this activity sounds, cooking and baking is a great idea to keep children busy, especially if there is some adult supervision involved. It’s a great way to spend time together, as you can even shop for ingredients together and teach them about the ingredients.
