NEWCASTLE KZN: Municipality clears large illegal dumping site

The public is urged to refrain from illegal dumping in their communities.

In its effort to clean up the town and lead by example, the Newcastle Municipality continued its clean-up campaign this week.

According to Mlungisi Khumalo, Head of Communications for the municipality, waste teams tackled ‘the increasing volume of of waste disposal in unauthorised locations’.

“As per the Waste Department’s daily routine, on March 29 the waste teams were on the ground clearing the large illegal dumping hotspot in Madadeni, Section 3,” confirmed Khumalo.

Now, the municipality has pleaded with the public to refrain from illegal dumping practices in communities.
