Ladysmith KZN: Armed robbery at store in Illing Road
The staff were held up at gunpoint and locked in an office
Nine armed robbers burst into Pep clothing store in Illing Road yesterday (Tuesday, March 23), demanding valuables, cell-phones and money.Â
The staff had no choice but to hand over their belongings, as they felt that their lives were on the line.

The store manageress explained how petrified she and the rest of the staff were, as the men pointed guns at them and threatened to shoot if their orders were not obeyed.Â
She said luckily no one was injured and no customers were in the store at the time.
The staff were pushed around and locked in an office while the robbers helped themselves to all the cash in the till.
An undisclosed sum of money was taken.
Police responded to the scene and an investigation is underway.
