NEWCASTLE KZN: Mayor mourns the passing of King Goodwill Zwelethini
Newcastle Mayor extends his condolences to the Zulu Royal Family.
Newcastle Mayor, Dr Ntuthuko Mahlaba has sent his heartfelt condolences to the Zulu Royal family, following the untimely passing of His Majesty King Goodwill Zwelethini kaBhekuzulu.
According to Mlungisi Khumalo, Head of Communications for the Newcastle Municipality, Cllr Mahlaba joins millions across the world who are aggrieved and saddened by news of the King’s passing.
“King Goodwill Zwelethini will be remembered as a unifier and a global citizen for peace,” said Khumalo.
Dr Mahlaba added that the municipality was shattered by the passing of the beloved King.
“Indeed, our nation is poorer today and a gigantic tree has fallen. ‘Ngangezwe Lakhe’ will forever be remembered as a King who gallantly and passionately fought for peace throughout his years. Lala ngokuthula Hlanga Lomhlabathi,” commented Cllr Mahlaba.
