Ladysmith KZN: Sky’s the limit for top student

The 2020 Steadville Secondary School matriculant aced all 7 of her subjects and is now studying Medicine at university

Nkosisithandile Lesedi Sishange (17) was one of the top students in the Uthukela District after achieving fantastic results in last year’s final matric exams.

This former student at Steadville Secondary School got straight A’s and is now studying towards a career in Medicine (MBBCH degree – Bachelor in Medicine and Surgery) at the University of Cape Town. This after the help of a construction company that assisted with the initial varsity payment.

The Ladysmith Gazette conducted an interview with this gifted young lady, who said she is grateful to Moteko Construction. “My studying has been made possible by God’s grace and through the help of my family, teachers and the NYDA, who helped me raise the money to pay for food and transport, as well as the overnight stay I had on Saturday (March 6).

“On Sunday (March 7), I was allocated to Tugwell Hall residence, where I commenced the compulsory seven-day quarantine and by Tuesday, I was able to complete my registration. I will forever remain grateful to Moteko Construction, who assisted me in paying the initial payment (R28,500) towards my tuition.”

Sishange thanks the community of Ladysmith for showering her with love and support.
