Ladysmith KZN: Keep your children safe at all times

Do not leave children alone in a room with lit candles, matches, lighters, fireplaces or any other sources of flame or heat

Child safety comes first and it’s something we need to practice at all times, especially during holidays.

You need to constantly keep supervision over children to avoid any injuries and make sure they don’t fall prey to criminals / predators.

Do not leave children alone in a room with lit candles, matches, lighters, fireplaces or any other sources of flame or heat. Keep decorations out of reach of children and secured to the wall.

Any object small enough to fit through a toilet paper tube can obstruct the airway of a child.

When on the playground, give them ground rules on what they can and can’t do. Preferably, they should go with an adult to the park.

Since some parents work at home, it’s sometimes difficult to keep an eye on what kids are doing inside and outside the house. Try to find someone who can help you with the kids during your working hours.
