Ladysmith KZN: Overgrown grass a major problem in parts of town

Residents say they pay their rates and taxes, yet their money isn’t being used for service delivery in this town

Overgrown grass is posing a major problem for many residents of Ladysmith, with people saying it is a contributor to the high crime rate in many areas.

A man was attacked on Friday night by men who were hiding in dense bush and overgrown grass in Centenary Road.

The man was fortunate that Councillor Abbas Warasally was travelling down Centenary Road and saw the incident. He helped the man and took him home. Luckily, nothing was stolen.

Another problem area is the stop street at Saffa Street / Centenary Road.
