Ladysmith KZN – Things you can do at home this New Year’s Eve

You can still set the New Year's Eve mood at home

Spending New Year’s Eve at home with your family is not a bad thing after all. It can be a fantastic opportunity to bond, have fun together, and socialise with your loved ones. With movie nights, dinner, food, drinks, games and other activities, spending New Year’s Eve at home is something you won’t regret and with lockdown level 3 in place you have to be home by 9pm anyway.

Organise a movie night

Rent a movie you all have been wanting to see or any latest blockbuster. The night can still turn into a movie marathon. In between the movies, you can have different snacks and drinks you have prepared for the night.

Create a photo booth

Create memories of your New Year’s Eve by setting up the area in which you want to stage your photo booth. Find a place you can use for the background, and decorate the whole area according to the theme. You can create your own costumes, costume pieces and decorations. You could even have your own photo props.

  Game night

Bring out board games, card games and electronic games as you wait for the clock to strike midnight. You can create your own games along the way and include prizes during game tournaments for even more fun.

Organise dinner

Invite your family and a few friends to have dinner with you. You can ask family members and friends to bring different dishes to share or give each and every person their own task to do (food to cook). You can still set the New Year’s Eve mood at home. Organise a mini braai that can be a bring and share, and contribute money towards the food and drinks, just remember everyone needs to be home by the 9pm curfew.
