Keeping young minds positively engaged can be a daunting task, but for Deborah Gamede (guider and educator at Riverdale Primary School), the options can be endless.

Last Tuesday, Mrs Gamede decided to host a mini inter-house chess tournament for the Debby’s Bees Kings and Queens Chess Club.
“It was a very exciting tournament. The children were so serious. I have promised them that we will always have quarterly tournaments,” said Mrs Gamede.
The winner of the mini chess tournament was Siphumelele Khumalo.
In second place was Bongiwe Mabaso, with Sbongile Mabaso in third, while Olwethu Khumalo finished fourth.
