DUNDEE: Motoring company drives schools to success

"This is a way to assist our local schools financially and support the purchase of any necessary equipment"

Local company Hi Way Motors have embarked on a project to assist local schools with fund-raising, thanks to a unique incentive programme.

The first schools to benefit are Dundee Secondary, Dundee Primary and Ethangeni Combined School. At a presentation at Dundee Primary School, Hi Way Motors sales and marketing manager, Michael Denton-Cook, explained that for every vehicle purchased from Hi Way Motors by an educator at the school, the company will donate an amount towards that schools fund raising efforts.

“This is a way to assist our local schools financially and support the purchase of any necessary equipment,” said Michael.

At Dundee Primary, the project will be co-ordinated by principal, S Mchunu, and educator, NJ Buthelezi. Ethangeni Combined School has also benefited through this programme, as has Dundee Secondary.

Michael said the response from the education department has been excellent and is hoping to complete a similar agreement with other government departments.

He and Hi Way Motors director, Junaid Pandor, said they salute the Education Department ‘for their exceptional commitment and dedication to our scholars – well done!’ School representatives expressed their admiration and thanks to Hi Way Motors ‘for their outstanding community support and involvement’.
