Ladysmith KZN: Parts of Ladysmith without water

It is believed that uThukela experienced an electrical fault at the Spioenkop Plant

Parts of Ladysmith have been left without water today (October 16).

Some areas have low pressure and others no water at all.

The affected areas are believed to be those that receive water from the Ladysmith Water Treatment Plant.

It is believed that uThukela experienced an electrical fault at the Spioenkop Plant, which is the only water supply to town at the moment, due to the Klip River being dry.

uThukela had to shut down the Ladysmith Plant until water is pumped from Spioenkop.

Areas that receive water from Ezakheni are also not getting supply, but the reason for ‘dry taps’ in these areas is not known at this stage.
