An intelligence driven operation on September 30 and October 1 resulted in the arrest of three suspects in the Osizweni policing area.
Lizzy Arumugam of the Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications department said that on the night of September 30, officials recovered 21 small parcels of whoonga drugs and cash at a home in Section A. Officials promptly arrested one suspect.
“In the early hours of the morning of October 1, members moved on another house in Section A and managed to recover 22 small parcels of whoonga and more cash. Another suspect was arrested,” confirmed Arumugam.
At yet another home in Section B, officers recovered cocaine and more cash, and arrested one suspects.
All three suspects are between the ages of 28 and 30 and have appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court. The street value of the drugs recovered is estimated at R1 500.
