The current power outage in Pioneer Park is expected for last for the next three to four hours.
According to Head of Communications for Newcastle Municipality, Mlungisi Khumalo, the situation is due to ‘blown terminations from our mini substation m/s 54’.
The affected streets are:
- Coronation Street
- Napier Street
- Dolomite Street and
- Dimock Street
“We are currently busy replacing the terminations, which will take at least three to four hours,” he said.
The municipality has apologised for the inconvenience and advised affected residents to treat all electrical apparatus as live.
