Winterton police are investigating a murder case after the body of a pregnant woman was found in the back of a torched bakkie in Bergville.
According to provincial police spokesperson Captain Nqobile Gwala, the burned bakkie was recovered in Bergville last week Thursday (July 23) at about 7.30am. Human remains were found in the vehicle.
The body was burnt beyond recognition and the bakkie was riddled with bullet holes.
A postmortem revealed that the recovered remains were those of a woman who was eight months pregnant.
