Baby box ready for Ladysmith moms to deliver

1 baby was dropped off at the home just before lockdown started

The Emseni Baby Safe Box at Môrester Children’s Home has been up and running for a few months already.

Speaking to the home, one baby has been dropped off by a mother, but not in the safe box itself. The mother personally came and dropped the child at the home just before lockdown started.

The baby safe box is fully equipped with sensors that sound an alarm to five people, who are notified that a baby has been placed in the box.

The alarm notifies the workers immediately so they can react and get to the baby as fast as possible.
