Premier unveils Maths and Science programme at school in Bergville

The programme will benefit Grade 8 and 12 learners in 50 schools in rural areas

KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala, along with KZN MEC for Education Kwazi Mshengu, visited Ubulinga Secondary School in Bergville yesterday (June 30). The main objective of the Premier’s visit was to unveil the roll-out of the Maths and Science development programme and e-learning solution.
This programme aims to benefit Grade 8 and 12 learners in 50 schools situated in rural areas that fall under the uThukela District. Each school will receive a full package of ICT tools, which include 40 devices to host educational and digital content, 40 computer monitors and projector screens.
50 schools in the uThukela District will also get devices with power source presentation accessories, wireless mouse, USB speakers and a tutor software package that covers the CAPS curriculum for Maths and Science, as well as tutor guides for Maths and Science support.
