Ladysmith doctor and patient test positive for Covid-19

Tracing teams will contact anyone who has been in contact with the doctor

La Verna Private Hospital continues to ensure the safety of patients, doctors and employees as they confirm that a doctor practicing at the hospital has tested positive for Covid-19, today (March 28).

The hospital further confirms that a patient who has tested positive for Covid-19 is currently in isolation and being treated according to NICD and other relevant guidelines at the facility.

The hospital has immediately begun a precautionary deep-clean and will be opened later today.

The hospital has been temporarily closed and once open again will ensure that all new admissions will be admitted into a separate section of the hospital.

Anyone who has had contact with the doctor will be tracked, contacted and immediately isolated.
