At this stage, it is unknown when water will be restored to the affected areas.
This is according to an uThukela official, who further commented that protesters are still preventing water works staff from accessing the Ezakheni Plant. As a result, water shortages and low pressure is currently being experienced by many residents. This is expected to continue until the protest is over.
The protesters are demanding the immediate removal of Mayor Vincent Madlala.
