Uthukela Cluster SAPS hosts medal parade

Major General Makhoba gave the keynote address and congratulated all the recipients of medals

A medal parade in honour of Uthukela Cluster SAPS officers who have served for 10, 20 and 30 years respectively took place at the Settlers Park grounds on Wednesday, October 30.

The functionary at the event was Major General Makhoba. Also in attendance was Alfred Duma Local Municipality Mayor Vincent Madlala, Uthukela Cluster Community Policing Forum chairperson Rev Nduli and Acting Uthukela Cluster SAPS Commander Brigadier Bantham, as well as other senior officers and members of the community.

The event was opened with a prayer by the SAPS chaplain. Thereafter, Major General Makhoba rendered the keynote address and congratulated the medal recipients. More than 50 police officers received service medals.

According to the SAPS, all the recipients were motivated by this gesture and their loyalty will in turn serve as motivation to young officers, who will see that faithfulness and commitment pay dividends.
