Fire breaks out at home in Meena Place

Proactive neighbours managed to extinguish the flames

A house fire broke out last night (October 10) in Meena Place. The fire started in the lounge. Fast-acting neighbours ran out of their houses to help the elderly homeowner, who was there at the time.

No one was injured.

As far as the cause of the fire is concerned, it is alleged that an incense stick fell on a cloth, which caught alight.

Public Safety and the Ladysmith Fire Department also responded to the scene.
