DJ from Ladysmith makes it big in the USA

Nzima Mazibuko (20) is making it big in the music industry in America. Nzima, better known as Slager Da Dj, was born in Ladysmith and matriculated from Ladysmith High School (LHS) last year.

He started his journey in music back in 2015 as a bedroom DJ producing a few songs at home.

Nzima is fanatical about music and was determined to chase his dream. So he looked around for options to expand his career and started sending his electro dance music to countries abroad. At first, his music was rejected. His big break came in June this year when he was signed to Bentley Records based in New York.

So now Nzima makes his music here in South Africa and it gets posted onto digital platforms such as Spotify, iTunes and Beat Pods. In December this year, Nzima will be travelling to New York, where he will have a company tour of Bentley Records.

So far, he has released one song through Bentley Records and will be releasing another through them in the next few months. Nzima says, “I am happy to have reached this far in my career, but I am aiming for higher goals.”
