Hundreds turn up for cricket festival, including Dolphins players

For the first time ever, 3 players from the Dolphins team were there to interact with the players

The recent KFC Mini Cricket Festival was a roaring success that saw a whopping 750 players and 79 teams competing in the event.

A total of 23 primary schools from throughout Northern KwaZulu-Natal flocked to Settlers Park to be part of one of the biggest cricket festivals Ladysmith has ever seen.

Speaking to event organiser Clayton Moola, he says this year they had 14 teams from rural areas who excelled at the festival and even asked about the dates for next year’s event, as they want to come back for it.

For the first time ever, three players from the Hollywoodbets Dolphins team were there to interact with the players and give them valuable advice concerning the game of cricket. Lwandiswa Zuma, Calvin Savage and Ladysmith’s very own Kerwin Mungroo were the players who made the day extra special for the little ones.

The grounds were full to capacity, witnessing action-packed matches. Everything from well-executed cover drives to wickets tumbling, the festival had it all. A massive crowd of parents, family members and teachers were on the sidelines, cheering on the players with every ball bowled and shot played.
