Vryheid KZN – Town clean-up continues

Trotsky said, "Everyone needs to do their bit to ensure that we keep our town clean. People will always complain about something, but unless we do something about it, no one else will."

Community Services Portfolio chairperson Cllr Mpiyakhe Hlatshwayo, together with Ward Councillor Magda Viktor, have been continuously on the drive to keep Vryheid clean.
Recently, the service provider Msutfu Transporting (under Trotsky Nhlengethwa) – that has been tasked with interim cleaning of the town – also pledged its time and resources to assist the duo with the clean-up, free of charge, in areas that are not in the contract.
Trotsky said, “Everyone needs to do their bit to ensure that we keep our town clean. People will always complain about something, but unless we do something about it, no one else will.”
The free clean-up took place in Park Street, an area notorious for pythons and amaphara, and escalated into Nyala Street.

Cllr Hlatshwayo expressed his gratitude and said, “This is something worth noting and appreciating from Trotsky. Not many service providers will do this without financial gain, so this shows he also cares about the community.
“While doing work for the municipality, he managed to do a job he will not get paid for and for that, we are most grateful.”
Cllr Viktor echoed Hlatshwayo’s sentiments and urged the community to stop illegal dumping.
“I really want to encourage people to stop illegal dumping because this is not a ‘one man thing’ but applies to the entire community.
“Should people see someone dumping illegally, they are more than welcome to contact me and report that person and the area where the illegal dumping took place,” added Cllr Viktor.
