KFC robber nabbed in Dannhauser

The man was fleeing from the Newcastle Police after he and a group of men robbed the KFC in Newcastle.

A 33-year-old man has been arrested and charged for robbing at Springboklaagte Farm, Dannhauser.

The man and four others robbed a supermarket, on February 11, where they stole cellphones.
They fled after the shop owner opened fire on them.

On February 13, police arrested the man in the Mbabane area after he tried to evade arrest.

It is alleged that the man was fleeing from the Newcastle Police after he and a group of men robbed the KFC in Newcastle.

They also stole cellphones and cash in that incident.

He was found with the vehicle allegedly used to commit the crime at Springboklaagte, as well as two firearms and cellphones, belonging to KFC employees.

He appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrates Court and the investigation continues.

“We are still searching for a second group of robbers who are operating in Annieville, Rutland and Allen Farm areas and who are also robbing business people, especially foreign nationals.”
