Residents indulge themselves at Majuba Market

Local entrepreneurs showcased a variety of handmade and handcrafted items for sale.

Last Saturday, residents were treated to an eventful day at Majuba Lodge. Live music and tons of entertainment mingled perfectly with the selection of delicious goodies on offer.

Local entrepreneurs showcased a variety of handmade and handcrafted items for sale. The list included custom-made jewellery and furniture sculpted from sleek wood.

Sithembiso Mkhwanazi, Lunga Nhlebela, Sandile Kubheka and Njabulo Khuzwayo.

Local entrepreneur, Charlene Jansen van Rensburg spoke to the Newcastle Advertiser about her personal experiences with the various markets in the Newcastle area.

 

Charlene Jansen van Rensburg showcases a handmade jewellery set.

“I have been making jewellery for as long as I can remember; almost 13 years now. I have a passion for creating beautiful pieces and when I was younger, I used to make small pieces and send them with my grandmother, who attended markets and displayed them and sold the items,” she explained. “Since then, I have attended many markets and I enjoy the atmosphere.”
