Osizweni SAPS arrests two for possession of drugs

The suspects all appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court on January 16. 

An Intelligence Driven Operation was conducted in Osizweni on January 15, with the assistance of Osizweni Crime Prevention Unit members.

Members proceeded to a house at A Section. On arrival, four full Mandrax tablets and one quarter Mandrax tablet were recovered. The estimated total street value of the drugs recovered is R300.

Thereafter, members patrolled the area next to Boxer Store in Osizweni and stopped and searched two male suspects.

“One of them was in possession of a bag. The police officials questioned them about said clothes and the two suspects failed to explain why they were in possession of women’s clothes, which were suspected to be stolen.”

The items recovered included one floral duke, two T-shirts, two skirts, six blouses and one navy blue bag, with an estimated value of R1 000.

In general, the operation yielded positive results as two suspects, aged 32 and 52, were arrested for possession of drugs. The other two suspects, aged 19 and 24 respectively, were arrested for possession of suspected stolen goods.

The suspects all appeared in the Madadeni Magistrate’s Court on January 16.
