Collision on Hathorn Street leaves one dead
A portion of the road has been closed off to traffic by the authorities.
A motorcycle and a car collided on Hathorn Street at around 7pm this evening.
Paramedics who arrived at the scene attempted to resuscitate the driver of the motorcycle, who sadly succumbed to his injuries a short while later.
The cause of the collision is not known at this stage and a portion of the road has been closed off to traffic. SAPS officials and other emergency personnel are currently at the scene.
The Newcastle Advertiser extends its condolences to the bereaved family during this time.
