News of Newcastle’s Eskom debt explodes on Twitter
As news of Newcastle's massive Eskom debt circulates, residents countrywide vented their anger on social media platforms like Twitter.
The Newcastle Municipality, according to an official notice by the power utility, owes Eskom R213 123 387,95 (R213-million).
This debt has been accruing since May 2017. The Newcastle Advertiser broke the story in this week’s edition.
Residents countrywide took to Twitter to have their say:
