Chance for local musicians to audition for KZN Youth Orchestra

A chance of Northern KZN musicians to audition for the KZN Youth Orchestra

The KZN Youth Orchestra will be holding their second round of auditions for new members for next year-2015- at the Durban Music on Saturday, November 15 from 1.30pm.

“The Youth Orchestra is made up of young musicians from all around KZN province,” said Amanda Clay-Smith in a statement to the Courier.

.”We are looking for young players who are learning  orchestral instruments. The commitment is to rehearse on Friday nights at the Durban Music school in Daikonia Ave  from 4-6.30pm during school term time. Concerts are also  arranged to take place on Friday evenings.”

Should any young musicians be interested in auditioning they need to be between the ages of 12 and 23 , be grade 3 music level for the Shadow orchestra and grade 5 music level for the main orchestra. Candidates must prepare 2 contrasting pieces and some scales. They may play with or without an accompanist.
