Residents cry out for help to fix massive potholes

One resident even quipped that a good idea would be to build a bridge over the potholes so people can drive over them

Dam-sized potholes in Willow Drive and Rose Terrace have residents up in arms.

Concerned residents from the area say that the massive potholes have become an eyesore and make life difficult for motorists travelling on these stretches of road.

They say the potholes are becoming even bigger, with one resident even quipping that it would be a good idea to build a bridge over the potholes so people can drive over them.

The residents held a community meeting with Councillor Abbas Warasally in this regard.

The issue was taken up with council by Cllr Warasally when the new road was built in Protea Drive, as that’s when the potholes started emerging. To date, nothing has been done about the steadily worsening situation.

“All that was done was that shale was dumped at the side of the road; nothing else,” commented Cllr Warasally.

He again forwarded the complaint to management of council, yet nothing was done.

He now makes a humble appeal to council to have the problem solved.
