SPORT: Pioneer Bowling Club awards top achievers
After the formalities, members enjoyed a delicious bring-and-braai and spent the afternoon in good company.
The Pioneer Bowling Club rewarded its top achievers during its prize giving ceremony on August 17.
The winners were as follows:
Women Singles – Marie Cooper,
Men Singles – Jannie Esterhuizen,
Mixed Pairs – Jannie Esterhuizen and Corrie Kruger,
Trips Winners – Neels van Rooyen, Hester Britz and Johan van Rooyen,
Womens Fours – Nesta Viljoen, Johanna le Roux, Petro Kloppers and Issie Smit,
Mens Fours – Louis Pretorius, Nico Coetzee, Dawid Kruger and Hans Botha,
La Bri Trofee – Lourence Jonck, Cor Horsten, Jannie Geyser and Flip Botes,
Oldest bowls player in Pioneer Bowling Club – Miempie Swanepoel.
The club also held its annual general meeting during which a new committee was elected.
The new committee comprises of the following individuals:
Petro Kloppers – Treasurer,
Corrie Kruger – Secretary,
Lourence Jonck – Chairman,
Sias Swanepoel -Vice Chairman,
Hans Botha – Competition Secretary.
Additional members – Jannie Esterhuizen, Betsie Mattee, Eric Kruger, Flip Botes (Greenkeeper), Cor Horsten, Marie and Louis Cooper.
