Watch: Fahima Yusuf murder suspect linked to Ladysmith (South Africa)

Fahima's body was found in a shallow grave alongside the family home in Carlisle, Australia

The Seedat family in South Africa and Australia is in a state of shock after the arrest of Ahmed Dawood Seedat in Australia.

36-year-old Ahmed was charged with the murder of his wife, 32-year-old Fahima Yusuf.

As reported by The Bolton News, police made the discovery when they visited the house to investigate the disappearance of the mother of two, who was raised in Astley Bridge. She had not been seen since Friday, August 31, and the discovery was made on Wednesday last week.

Her husband appeared in the Perth Magistrate’s Court on Thursday and will next appear in the Stirling Gardens Magistrate’s Court on September 26.

Ahmed is the son of Dawood Seedat, who resided in a double-storey house in Forbes Street in the small town of Ladysmith (KwaZulu-Natal). The Seedat family moved abroad years ago. Ahmed was born in South Africa at a hospital in Durban.

A spokesman for the British Foreign Office told The Bolton News: “Our staff are in contact with the Australian authorities following the death of a British woman in Perth.”
