Within a few seconds, the door was forced open and three unknown males invaded the home. The men were armed with a firearm.
“They forced the family to hand over cash. R5, 000 was taken by the suspects who also took a hi-fi, television set, two cell phones, one laptop, a remote for the gate and the keys for the parked vehicle, but they did not take the car,” explained police spokesperson Captain Bongani Nyathi.
The suspects fled without a trace and Bergville police are investigating a case of house robbery.
