The Chinese New Year Charity Cup will take place on February 11 at Newcastle Golf Club.

Angus Hsu of the Chinese golf committee said this would be the first time in 20 years the Chinese community would host such an event.

“We felt it necessary to reintroduce the golf event and interact with the community.”

While sponsors and prizes have been lined up for the event, Mr Hsu invites businesses to support and sponsor the golf day.

“There will be approximately 100 golfers on the day and we would like to make it a memorable occasion for everyone.”

Golfers wishing to participate in the event can enrol at the Newcastle Golf Club from January 20.
