This was part of Covid-19 social relief for all 23 wards. 80 food parcels and 80 face masks were given to beneficiaries in each ward.

This distribution was part of the effort to assist severely-affected community members who are poverty-stricken during this national lockdown due to Covid-19. Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality Mayor Jabilile Mbele would like to thank the donors who contributed.

The triple challenges faced by South Africa (poverty, inequality and unemployment) have further exacerbated the plight of the poor during these trying times.

The Inkosi Langalibalele leadership would like to reiterate the sentiments of the president in encouraging community members to stay at home during lockdown.
