He was an Afrikaans teacher for part of his teaching career and will be remembered for his compassionate, caring and encouraging nature.

Former Estcourt Secondary School principal and a friend of Mr Frank for 41 years, Shirley Juan says he was also known for acknowledging the abilities of women in school management.

“I will remember him for motivating me to apply for the post of principal at Estcourt Secondary and constantly telling me I had the credentials to manage the school successfully at a time when there were no female high school principals in Estcourt,” said Mrs Juan.

Mr Frank’s funeral was held on April 30 in Johannesburg and a memorial service will be held at a later date in Estcourt.
