Years of neglect in Ladysmith street

The result of years of neglect can easily be spotted

It seems to be a growing trend for our town to be neglected, and Princess Margaret Street is no exception. The result of years of neglect can easily be spotted, say residents.

Many residents have complained about the state of the street, yet nothing has been done. This is just one of many areas in Ladysmith falling into a state of disrepair.

“It is upsetting to see a lovely place fall into such a state. Not only that, but we have issues commuting and are worried that if it gets any worse, our vehicles may get damaged,” one resident commented.

There are potholes, dug-up areas of the road filled with gravel, and cracks in the road with grass and other vegetation growing through the cracks.

There has also been water leaking through the road for the past month or so.

Even though Alfred Duma Local Municipality has been notified about these issues, nothing has come of the complaints. At this time, the municipality is unable to comment on the situation.
