Do you have what it takes to be a police reservist?

Duties of a reservist are voluntary, without any expectation of receiving compensation for such duty

The South African Police Service in KwaZulu-Natal is recruiting volunteers as reservists.
SAPS invites residents who are energetic, intelligent, physically and mentally fit, and dedicated to serving their country on a voluntary basis, to apply to become reservists.
The police service needs reservists to help them in the fight against crime and to uplift the community.
Duties of a reservist are voluntary, without any expectation of receiving compensation for such duty.
Candidates are expected to perform a minimum of 16 hours voluntary duty per month.
To be a reservist, you must:
– Be a South African citizen by birth
– Be between the ages of 20 and 50 years old
– Be in possession of a Grade 12 national senior certificate
– Be able to read and write two official languages, of which one must be English
– Be allowed to be vetted or screened
– Be prepared to take the prescribed oath of office
– Be without a criminal record
– Provide proof of a residential address
– Not have tattoos which will be visible when wearing uniform.
Employment is not a prerequisite requirement for applying as a reservist. The closing date for applications is February 28.
