Diligent learners take centre stage at Shayamoya Primary School

Learners received academic, sport, culture and special awards

On November 29, Shayamoya Primary School hosted its second Academic, Sport, Culture and Special Awards.
Children received certificates and trophies for excellence in different areas.

There were also awards for students who demonstrated diligence and those who improved the most over the course of the year. Special awards were given to learners who live the values of the late Nomfanekiso Matrina Khumalo, the school’s first principal.

Grade 1 learner Siyamthanda Khayile with Thokozani Boikhutso, Sindi Mazibuko and his guardian.

These values include kindness, humility and care for others, among other attributes.

The Grade 7 learners received a special gift to support them on their high school journey. The event was well attended by learners, parents and guardians, many of whom are grannies. The guests were entertained with songs by the students and a dance by the proud grannies.

The event was sponsored by Nomfundo Makhathini and Thokozani Boikhutso, the daughters of the late Nomfanekiso Matrina Khumalo.
