Do we need bees?

With seven species of bees currently on the endangered list, we asked Newcastillians whether they thought a loss of bees would have an impact on humans.

NEWCASTLE – Bees are essential for pollination. Without them, we will have a shortage of fruit, vegetables and cotton.

We are more dependent on them than we realise. With seven species of bees currently on the endangered list and all seven species belong to the Hylaeus genus of bees.

We asked Newcastillians whether they thought a loss of bees would have an impact on humans.
