Golfers take a swing at Skaapdag

Golfers were out in support of Saturday's Skaapdag competition

Submitted by Estcourt Golf Club

Saturday’s Skaapdag, sponsored by Macksons, was quite an involved competition that saw the inventor of this format, Deejay Ramdhav, and his three partners – Shane Mothilal, Sam Sewsunker and Gordon Chotu – winning on 121 points.

Second on 118 points were Paul and Jackson Fick, Owen Mcluckie (happy birthday, Owen) and Carlo Piagesti (no points, Carlo), followed by Bunn Hamman, Elias Mageza, Owen Mcluckie and Gail Boettiger. We might get trouble from the captain and president if we don’t mention that they came fourth with their partners, Nkosi Khuzwayo and Arnold Boettiger.

Closest to the pin was Gail Boettiger and the only two-club was made by George van Niekerk. The winners also won the jackpot on 29 points.

The club must thank Macksons for donating the meat, which resulted in 20 players receiving meat packs.
This Saturday is the Estcourt Hospice Association sponsored day, with an entry fee of R250, which includes green fees, closest to the pin, plenty of prizes and a finger supper.

Please support this worthy cause.

The league was won by Estcourt 1, with Estcourt 2 coming second. It is the second time in the history of the club that the league was won by Estcourt and the second team as runners-up.
The committee and members must thank Deejay (league captain) and all his dedicated players who played throughout the year. Well done and we salute you.

The Friday Pick ‘n Pay competition was won by Eijvind Vlok, who deserved the prize, as he tries every Friday.
