Deejay Ramdhav wins yet again

Consistent play has earned Deejay Ramdhav several victories on the golf course

Submitted by Estcourt Golf Club

Deejay Ramdhav and Sam Sewsunker used all their experience on the greens to win the competition on 53 points. For Deejay, we now have a rubber stamp for the number of times he’s been in the winning circle. The stamp saves us time, instead of writing down his name.

You must feel for Gordon Chotu and Kamy Baboolal. Leading the competition going into the 18th hole, the pressure got to them and they only managed to make three points on the multiplication hole. Third on 50 points were Gordon Smith and Carlo Piagesti, and closest to the pin on 7 was Fred Vickers. The only two-club was Doc Chotu with a chip of 25 metres. Sam and Deejay won the jackpot on 14 points.

The Wednesday competition, sponsored by Rite Watch, was won by Johannes Mchunu and Sondlo Mlotshwa on 41 points, followed by Willem Erasmus and Luke Schiever on 40 points, and then Nkosi Khuzwayo and Elias Mageza.

The Pick ‘n Pay Friday competition was won by Dave Diedrick. The spring treatment is in full swing and the players mustn’t think that the sand on the greens is also the bunker.

Players are reminded that when you enter a bunker and play out of it, you NEED TO RAKE THE BUNKER TO GIVE OTHER PLAYERS A FAIR CHANCE TO PLAY OUT OF A SMOOTH BUNKER.
The local rules state that failure to rake a bunker will result in a two-shot penalty or two Stableford points. We ask every player to adhere to the rules and ethics of golf.

Congratulations to Herman Dlamini who made it to the play-offs of the Champion of Champions at Kloof, representing our club as club champion.
This Saturday’s Combined Stableford is sponsored by the club.
