Police recover school’s stolen computers

Security guards were overpowered, gagged ad tied up with wires.

Dannhauser – Police are looking for a foreign national and another two men following the theft of 20 computers, valued at R100 000, from a school at KwaMdakane, Dannhauser area.

The SAPS K9 Dog Unit arrested three men last week after receiving information that a bakkie, loaded with computers, was seen in the vicinity of the Dannhauser taxi rank.
Police reacted swiftly and a red bakkie was identified.

The three occupants tried to flee but police arrested them. The computers had been wrapped in plastic refuse bags. The three men, aged between 20 and 35, have already appeared in the Dannhauser Magistrate’s Court.

 

A 27-year-old was also arrested after being found in possession of electrical computer cords that were also linked to the theft from the school.

A foreign national man and two other men are on the run in connection with the theft.

It is alleged that security guards at the school were approached by six men on Wednesday evening. They were overpowered, gagged and tied with wires.

The computers and cellphones were taken.
