Second on 51 points were Gordon Chotu and Deejay Ramdhav, with Arnold and Gail Boettiger on 41 points. 53 points is a big score, considering your partner making a birdie for a four-pointer and you making zero.
Four multiplied by zero is zero; some players gave their partners a “zero look” when they failed to score on a hole. Closest to the pin was Deejay Ramdhav, with Mukie Ghasitha making the only two-club. The jackpot, on 10 points, was shared.
The Midway-sponsored better-ball was won by Gordon Smith and Harry Koovarjee on 45 points, with Gordon Chotu and Deejay Ramdhav on 43 points, and Paul Wagenaar and George van Niekerk on 39 points.
Closest to the pin was visitor Greg Hamman, while two-clubs were scored by Deejay Ramdhav, Shane Mothilal and Harry Koovarjee. The Pick ‘n Pay six-hole competition was won by Dave Diedrick on 13 points on a count-out from Nkosinathi Khuzwayo.
A general meeting was held at the golf club on Wednesday and the members are requested to peruse the outcome, which has been posted on the notice board.
Members are requested to carry sandbags – failing to do so will result in a R50 fine. This Saturday’s Skaapdag will be sponsored by Doc Khuzwayo and Sam Sewsunker.
