50 students master garment construction
Mpofana students graduated with a statement of results for mastering the art of making garments
July 17 was a significant day in the lives of 50 students who graduated with a statement of results (SOR) in Garment Construction – Joining Component Parts, a qualification registered with the Fibre Processing & Manufacturing (FP&M) SETA in partnership with VCK Skills Training & Technical Services.

Mpofana Local Municipality was responsible for the student selection from various wards. The learners commenced training at CMT SA Work Wear Promotions in February this year and successfully finished this month (July).
VCK Skills Training facilitated the understanding of basic pattern-making, the use of two basic sewing machines, joining component parts, HIV awareness and entrepreneurship. Each learner graduated wearing the outfit made by themselves.
