Being a mom is the easiest job in the world; said no mother ever!

Nothing is easy, and not one day is the same as the next or previous one. We learn new things about our children as well as about ourselves.

-Madam-

As a mother, I know we are constantly learning new ways of parenting every day.

Nothing is easy, and not one day is the same as the next or previous one. We learn new things about our children as well as about ourselves.

The day I became a mom, I promised myself to be the best mother in the world. I soon realised this was an unrealistic. There are tantrums, screaming, fighting, crying, arguing and of course, attitude! We don’t always know how deal with these circumstances, and might tend to lose our minds every now and again.

I am not at all saying I am a bad mother; I am however acknowledging that I am indeed human, and I make mistakes. No one is given a handbook on how to raise children, yet most of us seem to figure it out eventually. In my eight years of being a mom, I have been a punching bag, a monster, a nurse, a person to puke on, and of course a ‘human poop-scoop’.

I have had to listen to the Barney theme song a million times, and my afternoon soap opera time has been invaded and replaced by the Powerpuff Girls. I have given up my right to sleep in on a Sunday morning. I have lost the right to decide what we eat for supper, as my children are quite the picky eaters.

I have the right to privacy when I go to the loo, as there will always be that tiny voice who decides at that moment, she wants to hold a conversation. I have given up the right to spend my weekends out and about with friends, and replaced it with pyjama patrol. And even when the children are at grandma’s, I’m too exhausted to even think about dressing up and going out.

However, with all this said, I do not regret a single moment regardless how hard it is. I will never trade being a mother for anything in the world.

-Proud mom-
