The Breakthrough Centre, based in Shakaskraal, along with the Kwadukuza Municipality and the Department of Social Development extended the invite to the Girl Guides.

“We wish to see our young people take a stronger stand against the violation of their basic human rights. ‘Child Abuse’ is a major concern for us as a nation, and within us lies the power to address this issue and eliminate its effect on our children…the future leaders of this country” shared Pastor Trevor and his wife Jessica Nair who is from the Breakthrough Centre.

The day commenced with a march against child abuse. Thereafter the attendees were welcomed to a fun-filled child-centered-program.

“All my Guides received goodie bags with caps, books, and sweets inside, including a trophy. It was really interesting being there, the children also got to learn how to apply self-defense measures,” told Mrs Gamede from Riverdale Primary who accompanied the Girl Guides.
