Come and join the Janamastami celebrations in Ladysmith

Main night celebrations will be from 7pm until midnight on the 15th

The Hare Krishna Movement invites the community at large to attend Sri Krishna Janamastami celebrations during the second week of August.

Yes, loving children of God, the Lord’s appearance is once again upon us.

Sri Krishna Janamastami celebrations is a time to offer submissive aural reception to the message of Godhead. When we do this, we can know God as He is and our relationship with Him as it is. This is a great opportunity to open the windows and doors of our body to allow the light emanating from the Lord to enter into us.

We cannot approach the absolute truth with our poor fund of knowledge. However, out of His (Krishna’s) own mercy, the absolute truth reveals itself by His own appearance.

In the darkness of night, the sun cannot be obliged to appear, even by the power of our highest technology. But in the morning, the sun reveals itself of its own accord, without the help of any materialistic enterprise of ours.

In the same way, the Supreme Personality of Godhead manifests Himself by His own potency, without any help from this material world.

The Lord descends out of His causeless mercy just for our benefit.

However, if we keep our windows and doors shut when the sun rises in the morning, surely the rays of the sun cannot enter our room. Similarly, when the Supreme Personality of Godhead manifests Himself, we must not shut the doors and windows of our body and mind, otherwise the light emanating from the Lord shall not enter into us.

In this transcendental spirit, the Ladysmith Hare Krishna Movement invites the community to take part in this celebration.

“Dear children of God, take advantage of this auspicious period and do your best to establish your relationship with Lord Shri Krishna. Make your life spiritually successful and your life will become sublime and happy.”

Sri Krishna Janamastami celebrations begin on Monday, August 7, continuing up until midnight on Tuesday, August 15 – weekday evenings from 7pm to 8pm and Saturday and Sunday afternoon from 4pm till 5pm.

On Tuesday the 15th, main night celebrations will be from 7pm until midnight.

The venue is the Hare Krishna Temple, 19 Azalea Drive. Fruits, flowers and incense will be highly appreciated.

Supper will be served every evening and everyone is welcome.
